Summary

Consejo’s Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency Treatment and Recovery Program is an award-winning service targeting low-income, often undocumented and monolingual Latinos. Services for these high-risk and non-acculturated adults are provided at many of our satellite service centers as well as in the client’s home and workplace. Consejo’s services include outreach and engagement, substance abuse prevention, drug and alcohol outpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, recovery services, case management, children and family services, and behavioral health treatment as well as peer support services. Participants in Consejo’s Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency Outpatient Treatment and Recovery Program also receive training in leadership and life-skills, nutrition counseling, transportation services and a wide range of therapeutic activities aimed at promoting sobriety and increasing functionality of all enrollees.

Consejo is certified as an Outpatient Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency Treatment and Recovery Services Provider by DASA in King and Pierce Counties. Because of our established partnership with the in Washington State Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (DASA), a wide range of agencies throughout the Puget Sound area refer their clients who need of substance abuse treatment to Consejo’s culturally competent services provided in Spanish. Every staff member of our Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency Treatment and Recovery Program is both bilingual and bicultural and a chemical dependency professional or intern as required by Washington Administrative Codes (WAC).
