| Summary
HIV/AIDS services have grown at Consejo in the last two years. Our continuum of care has expanded to include Prevention Case Management as well as Natural Health Services because the incidence of HIV/AIDS is disproportionately growing in the Latino community for gay and bisexual men as well as female to male transgender people. Also, recent trends document a rise in Latino men who have sex with men further complicating the multi-faceted dynamics of the increased rate of infection. Sadly, there is also a rise in infections among heterosexual Latinas as well. To address these growing needs, Consejo remains steadfast in ensuring our HIV/AIDS clients are receiving the very best, culturally-competent care services with a focus on case management, prevention and accountability to put a stop to new infections in the Latino community and reverse current trends. |
