Perpetrator Treatment Program

Consejo offers a state-certified domestic violence perpetrator program which provides treatment in the Spanish language. Consejo also provides low-cost and sliding scale options for indigent batterers whose income verification proves that they are unable to access treatment at regular cost.

In accordance with WAC 388-60, the primary goal of Consejo's domestic violence perpetrator treatment program is to increase the safety of survivors by facilitating change in the participants' abusive behavior; and to hold participants accountable for changing their abusive patterns of behaviors, thinking, and beliefs. All of Consejo's treatment modalities, such as group and individual counseling, accountability and responsibility recognition, and coaching in making non-violent choices, are based on strategies and philosophies that do not blame the survivor, and do not imply that the survivor shares any responsibility for the abuse which occurred.
