Individual Counseling
Provides clients with an opportunity to talk over what is on their mind with an objective person, who can help them learn new skills and ways to overcome the anxiety and trauma caused by sexual assault. All counseling is confidential and no information is released without the client's consent. Clients who are in need of more intensive care are referred to Consejo's Mental Health Program.
Group Therapy
Sexual assault survivors meet face-to-face with a trained group facilitator to talk about what is troubling them. Clients give feedback to each other by expressing their own feelings about trauma and healing. This interaction gives group members an opportunity to try out new ways of behaving and to learn more about the way they interact with others in a safe, confidential atmosphere.
Family Support Services
The goal of Family Support is to advance the best interests of children and families and to assist them throughout the sexual assault healing process. For example, this may include assisting parents in developing new parenting and communication skills.
Medical/Health Advocacy
Consejo advocates provide support and information to sexual assault victims and their families who have medical concerns, need medical referrals and/or seek medical attention.
