Alcohol Drug Information School (ADIS)

Many elusive cultural factors contribute to a significantly high incidence of substance abuse among Latinos, especially males. Consejo’s ADIS addresses these issues directly and in Spanish providing education related to relapse prevention and resources in the sobriety community. The ADIS Program at Consejo is often mandated by court orders for DWI’s and other substance abuse offenses but does not in any way constitute a treatment program nor does it fulfill any treatment requirements. Consejo’s ADIS is designed to be an educational intervention and is best suited for those in need of preventive education who do not meet the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM’s) Patient Placement Criteria for treatment.
